This placeholder post deliberately ships without a cover in its frontmatter.
It exists to show what happens then: a cover is generated for it — a simple
gradient with the title on top — and used everywhere a cover would appear.
Where the generated cover shows up
The same generated image backs the card in the blog list, the header on this page, and the preview card when the link is shared. All three stay in sync because they read the same source.
Why a fallback at all
A post without a picture would otherwise leave an empty card and a preview with no image. The generated cover keeps every article looking finished from the moment it ships, with no manual art step.
Replace it any time
Set a cover in the frontmatter and that image takes over instead — the
generated one is only the fallback.
